Cholesterol

Cholesterol, a fat-like substance naturally produced by the body, is essential for health. It is the precursor to our hormones and vitamin D production. It is protective to cell membranes and nerve tissue. Elevated levels, particularly LDL, may become oxidized due to underlying inflammation leading to endothelial disfunction and plaque formation. Inflammation is the underlying cause of heart disease not cholesterol as we are led to believe.

Blood Pressure

Elevated blood pressure is not a disease; it is a symptom of an underlying, deeper issue in the body. Potential causes may include elevated blood sugars, nutrient deficiencies (magnesium and potassium), chronic stress, toxicities (caffeine, heavy metals), and other medical conditions (endothelial dysfunction, kidney disease). Determining and treating the underlying cause is the most effective way to manage elevated blood pressure.

Erectile Dysfunction

When men experience difficulty obtaining or sustaining an erection, cardiovascular disease may be the underlying cause. Seek medical attention as this may be the first symptom of other medical conditions – endothelial dysfunction, cardiovascular disease or nerve damage from blood sugar dysregulation. Yes, stress levels and lower testosterone levels may play a role, yet erectile dysfunction is not part of the normal, aging process.

Prostate Health

The prostate gland functions in the production of semen, the fluid containing sperm. A healthy prostate is about the size a walnut and tends to grow slowly with age. Conditions of the prostate include, prostatitis (an infection in the gland), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or enlargement of the tissue leading to symptoms of urinary frequency, urgency, dribbling and stream changes and prostate cancer which responds well to treatment if detected early.

Hormone Balance (Low Testosterone)

Men, like women, experience challenges of hormone imbalance, a condition known as Andropause. Symptoms of low levels testosterone may include decline in sex drive, decline in motivation, a dip in mood, difficulty maintaining muscle mass, abdominal weight gain and in some cases difficulty obtaining and maintaining an erection. Talk with your doctor as treatment is available and life is too short not to enjoy it to the fullest.

Digestive Health

Chronic Stress

Chronic stress sets a cascade of events in motion directly damaging the cardiovascular system, weakening the immune system, deregulating the nervous system, and depleting the endocrine systems. Chronic stress is a silent killer. No medication, supplement or diet can prevent it. Identifying and managing stress is the key.
